UNIX系统上没有显卡或无法直接登陆控制器时，RS232C SERIAL连接可替代原有的终端机以利用PC进行连接，非常方便。如要通过Xshell使用SERIAL连接则应在主机系统上安装串行接口（SERIAL Interface）。
