You can`t change the past ,but you can ruin(毁于) the present by worrying（担心）  about the future.
你改变不了昨天，如果你过于忧虑明天将会毁掉今天。

1.crux 艰难，难题，十字架 

The overhang（垂直部分） was the crux（关键） of the climb（攀爬） - once she was over it, therest（剩下的） was easy
