在日常工作中，经常需要与客户交换文档，所以我需要非常清楚的描述我需要的文件格式。文件格式（file format）其实由文件后缀名（file extension)确定的。常见的文件后缀名的读法有三种：
直读法：（直接读字母）
.PDF - PDF file
.txt - txt file
.pkg - pkg file
.mp3/.mp4 - mp3/.mp4 file
连读法：
.gif - [d??f ] / [ɡ?f] file
.jpeg or .jpg - [d?ep?ɡ]
.tif /.tiff - [t?f]
.zip - [z?p]
直接用软件名：
像Microsoft Word、Excel等Office办公用文档，一般会用软件名表达：Word file、Excel file。
如何告诉对方你要的文件格式呢？
Could you please send me the file in Microsoft Word format?
或者Could you please send me the flie as a Microsoft Word file?
