一、

In the speaking center . students should :only write very few questions or notes.  write lots of sentences

When you write, you start listening word-by-word, e.g.

I-want-to-go-to-the-zoo.

I-want-a-cup-of-tea.

Did-you-talk-to-your-parents-yesterday? 

One-hour-and-a-half/half an hour

 

When you become used to listening word-by-word, you will find your listening skills deteriorate.

You Will ask the teachers and other speakers to slow down. Also you are unable to listen for main idea if you hear an unknown word, even though you could guess the meaning 

if you thought about the word in the context of the sentence as a whole

当你习惯于逐字逐听时,你会发现你的听力技能会恶化。

你会要求老师和其他发言者放慢速度。 如果您听到一个未知单词,即使您能猜出其含义,也无法听取主要想法

二、

In the speaking center . students should :look at the vocabulary/grammar before studying the lesson

review the vocabulary/grammar after finishing the lesson .

 

Previewing can help you to get higher scores, not really help you improve your listening skills .Students should learn new words and grammar structure the natural way- by listening and repeating.

Learning by listening means students develop their listening skills.

三、

In the speaking center . students should :translate anything into Chinese .

write English definitions of the words using an English-english dictionary (after finishing the lesson)

 

Translating is the natural thing to do. But this shouldn’t continue too long as it will cause difficulties in listening and fluency.

Chinese and English are two different languages. BeyondLevel 1-3, vocabulary from English cannot always easily be translated into Chinese because of the different emotions/connotations associated with the words.中文和英文是两种不同的语言。 超越级别1-3,由于与单词相关的不同情感/内涵,来自英语的词汇不能总是容易地被翻译成中文。

 

四、

In the speaking center. I want to remember everything .

Students should be trying to remember the key grammar and vocabulary from the lesson .学生应该尝试记住课程中的关键语法和词汇。

The lessons have been designed so that students are expose d o a lot of language in each lesson . 课程设计使学生在每节课中都能学到很多语言。

五、

I want to review the lesson when I get home.

Students should use the student manual and MP3 to review the content of the lesson .学生应使用学生手册和MP3查看课程内容。

Students only need to remember the key vocabulary/grammar for this lesson 学生只需要记住本课的关键词汇/语法

Students often make mistakes when they write as they mishear a word. Then they start memorizing the mistake学生在写错误时会经常犯错误。 然后他们开始记住错误
