1. In a pot of boiling, salted water, cook the pasta  在一锅沸腾的盐水中,意大利面

# Linking

When words that end in a consonant sound are next to words that begin with a vowel sound, the consonant sound becomes part of the second word.

Examples:

1. likes it = like_sit

2. laughed at = laugh_tat

3. wake up = wa_kup

When words that end in a vowel sound are next to words that begin with a vowel sound, English speakers may naturally create a /y/ or /w/ sound that links them together

Here are some examples:

1. too + early = too wearly

2. who + is + it = whowizit

3. I + am = I yam
